A software solutions company has won the Red Dot Award for its product which communicates waiting times to patients and others.
SAP’s Health for Waiting Time Management solution won in the category of ‘communication design’. The product displays information on expected patient waiting times and treatment information on monitors installed in emergency waiting rooms and outpatient departments. It was aimed to reduce stress and anxiety for patients when they feel they don’t receive sufficient information, or information they don’t find easy to understand.
The software, created along with the Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch, predicts waiting times and priority of treatment for each patient in real time based on data from the hospital’s clinical information system and a cloud-based service.
