Nonin Medical, a provider of SpO2 monitoring solutions, and Corscience, a provider of CO2 monitoring solution have entered into a partnership to co-promote each other’s OEM product offerings. The two manufacturers are collaborating in an attempt to better serve both the US and European markets with the highest quality patient monitoring offerings.
The demand for high-quality OEM components for respiratory and cardiovascular disease monitoring devices is increasing.
"As the challenges of global healthcare become increasingly complex, we recognise the urgency and need for innovative solutions. This partnership brings together specialists in pulse oximetry and capnography who will use their combined sales channels to promote high-quality monitoring modules and devices to customers and, most importantly, to caregivers around the world," said Dr. Jörg Pintaske, CEO of Corscience.
The American Heart Association classifies cardiovascular disease as one of the greatest threats to the population in the USA. Last year, 41% of all deaths in the US were due to cardiovascular disease, followed by associated diseases such as strokes, high blood pressure and vascular disease.
According to studies by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the figure in Europe is as high as 45%. State-of-the-art monitoring systems with precise capnography and pulse oximetry measurements can counteract these figures - they save lives. Therefore, seamless global coverage must be the goal.
Corscience's CO2 monitoring solution and Nonin’s SpO2 monitoring solutions are complementary according to the companies, which both say they expect to expand their market presence through this partnership.
Corscience says it will be able to extend its market presence with the CAP capnography module in North America and other markets in the future, while Nonin Medical expects to expand its SpO2 monitoring solutions worldwide.
“Nonin’s mission is to improve the lives of patients through noninvasive monitoring and we are excited to partner with Corscience. This partnership will expand access to high-quality capnography and pulse oximetry devices helping improve patient outcomes,” said John Hastings, CEO of Nonin Medical.
