Fox Surgical, a provider of orthopaedic pain management solutions to the UK, has secured a collaboration with Spentys – a Belgian-based developer of a clinically-validated 3D scanning, modelling and printing platform.
Spentys offers 3D scanning, 3D modelling and 3D printing solution that aims to allow healthcare providers to create high-quality, patient-specific orthoses faster and at lower costs. Its mobile-first solution allows medical professionals to design a 3D printable custom-made medical device in less than 10 minutes.
Established in 2020, Fox Surgical has introduced various ranges of orthopaedic products to support both patients and surgeons during recovery, including Ameblio cryotherapy solutions for knee, hip, hand & wrist, shoulder & elbow, ankle & foot and orthoheal washable orthopaedic immobilisers. The partnership with Spentys will give Orthopaedic Surgeons and practices the ability to create their own 3D printed orthopaedic devices, bespoke for each patient using state of the art technology. The technology works using a centralised, cloud-based software to manage 3D scans and 3D printing efforts. Everything can be controlled through a digital interface, and devices can be produced in just a matter of hours, dramatically reducing patient wait times.
James Pearson, sales manager at Fox Surgical said "We are incredibly excited by our new partnership with Spentys. They are on a similar journey to ourselves in wanting to bring new and innovative solutions to the orthopaedic industry which will improve patient wait times and provide fast, efficient solutions for surgeons. We’re currently working with select customers to help them to produce light-weight custom-made orthoses for clients in rapid time. The results so far are fantastic."
