A UK based supplier of ophthalmic and aesthetic cannulas, Sterimedix, is looking to expand on its global success at this year’s MEDICA.
The company began with the manufacture of surgical products for eye surgery over 30 years ago, believing in the concept of single-use instruments to minimise the risk of bioburden transfer.
A focus on quality and manufacturing excellence has seen success in global market penetration and resulted in a move to larger advanced manufacturing facilities.
In response to dramatic growth in demand for injectable implants during the early 2000s, Sterimedix launched its range of single-use flexible aesthetic cannulas and sharp needles, under the brand name of Silkann, for the injection of aesthetic dermal fillers.
Sterimedix is now seeing a rise in interest for orthopaedic applications where advances are being made to deliver quality-of-life improvement for many patients and its products are still produced in the UK.
Each year millions of single-use instruments are manufactured at the company’s facilities, to exacting quality standards, using a combination of precision hand skills and automated machinery.
The ability to produce high volume, quality products has seen the business reach global success as its ophthalmic and aesthetic cannulas are supplied through a worldwide network of distributors, pharmaceutical companies and kit packers supplying treatment procedure packs.
Sterimedix’s team of product specialists will be on hand to provide information, explore opportunities for cooperation and discuss some of the latest industry developments in the employment of single-use cannulas at MEDICA. This includes the emergence of orthopaedic applications that the business is keen to develop.
The company will be located on the UK Pavilion in Hall 16 on stand J16-2. Drop by and speak to a member of the team on stand J16-2.
