Polish medical device company GlucoActive has developed the GlucoStation, a blood glucose measuring device.
Instead of puncturing, GlucoStation requires the user to put a forearm on the device for a few seconds to take a measurement.
Robert Stachurski, president of the board at GlucoActive, said: "This means the end of puncture and pain to control diabetes and a huge relief for millions of patients globally.”
In November, the company received the approval of the Bioethics Committee to conduct a medical experiment on patients. The tests are carried out at the Diabetes Clinics in Poland. Soon, the company plans to implement its devices in selected hospitals, pharmacies, and tests on patients in the home-environment.
