Antimicrobial solutions provider BioCote has invested over £600,000 in larger headquarters, a new laboratory and has recruited more staff. The move is designed to enable the company to meet demand.
BioCote’s antimicrobial additives are integrated into products during manufacturing to provide permanent protection against microbes such as bacteria, mould and viruses, which can cause odours, staining and material degradation. Additives can be manufactured into all types of plastics and polymers used in a wide range of sectors.
The company has invested in larger, purpose-built headquarters, comprising an office complex to house its customer support team and a laboratory. The facility also includes a sterile packing area and warehouse.
The company’s employee numbers has risen by 25% over the last year, and they are expecting further increases over the next two years.
Sean Reid, managing director of BioCote, said: “We believe our commitment to customers has contributed to the expansion of our business. Over the past 25 years, BioCote has grown into a well-established market-leader in integrated antimicrobial technology. Our knowledge of microbiology, materials chemistry and global biocidal regulations has kept us at the forefront of the industry. We take an open, consultative partnership approach to antimicrobial product integration, and are trusted by leading brands worldwide.
“An increasing number of companies in the UK and globally are choosing to integrate our high-performance antimicrobial additives into plastics and polymers used in the manufacture of a wide range of products, from medical equipment and electrical items to furniture and bathroom accessories. The hygiene, cleanliness and durability benefits that are delivered give end users a very valid reason to choose BioCote-protected over non-protected products.”
