2San has expanded into the self diagnostics market – as it launched several home testing kits at the global trade fair MEDICA.
The pandemic changed many things about the way we live our lives including the way we test for illness. New research from 2San reveals that 86% of people surveyed used lateral flow tests during the pandemic, with 87% saying using them gave them reassurance of their health status.
Mark Hewlett, Global CEO at 2San said: “We design innovative healthcare products and solutions that support communities and enable them to thrive. We empower people everywhere to own their own health and make informed decisions to live better, healthier lives. Launching this new range of self-test kits today is another step on our journey to fulfil this vision."
When asked how concerned they are about their health, via an Ipsos Mori survey of 1000 adults conducted for 2San, 46% of people in the UK said they now worry more about their health than they did pre-pandemic, with over two-thirds (67%) expressing concern that the NHS would not be able to provide them with timely health care if required.
With the NHS under pressure – 79% of people in the UK are interested in the option of using self-diagnostic testing to reduce the need to visit their GP for some health conditions.
2San’s self-diagnostic tests will be available in the UK. Further products will be added to the range in early 2023.
