Sarah Denham | Principal Consultant | Wilmington Healthcare
Having spent 14 years working in the pharma industry, Sarah is highly experienced in helping companies to develop strategic partnerships with the NHS in primary, secondary and tertiary care.
To successfully engage with the NHS in this way, pharma companies need a sound understanding of NHS policy and commissioning structures. Sarah not only assists companies in navigating the latest changes, she is also passionate about helping them to map the whole patient journey and define how a product fits into the new holistic integrated care pathways that are being developed by the NHS.
Sarah’s experience of facilitating partnership working for pharma extends to helping companies to better engage with professional bodies, patient groups and academic institutions. She has also led cross functional teams in capitalising on opportunities arising from Government initiatives, such as the Accelerated Access Collaborative, and helped them to put their case to the Government on issues around specific medicines.
In addition, Sarah has specialist knowledge of cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, oncology, and respiratory diseases. Most recently, she worked for a leading pharma company on national policy and partnership working for its CVD franchise.
Jonathan Carney | Director of Innovation and Strategy | Wilmington Healthcare
Jonathan oversees the development and delivery of a portfolio of services which provide healthcare companies with in-depth insight and analysis on NHS health and social care organisations.
With more than 20 years’ commercial and analytical experience in pharma, Jonathan has worked in a number of senior level and consultancy roles at Janssen, IQVIA and Interactive Medica (which is now owned by Wilmington Healthcare).
His experience includes spells in long term planning for specialty products, and commercial effectiveness as well as consultancy to support clients with go-to-market strategies, supply chain management and technology.
Ian Bolland (Moderator) | Group Content Manager | Med-Tech Innovation Magazine
After receiving a Masters in Media & Politics from the University in Liverpool in 2018, Ian has worked across all of the Rapid Life Sciences brands - covering a range of subjects across digital health, medtech and pharma. In June 2020, Ian became editor of Med-Tech Innovation News in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and has taken a keen interest in how technological trends have accelerated during this period. In 2023 Ian became Group Content Manager of Rapid News Group's Medtech communications becoming responsible for the content on Med-Tech Innovation News and Medical Plastics News as well orchestrating the Med-Tech Innovation Expo Conference.
